TREATS

Chewing treats

Chewing treats are a great way to give your dog a treat and keep them from chewing things they are not suppose to. Especially when the dog is 4-6 months and are teething, the chewing helps the teeth to come loose and change faster.

Chewing treats have to be natural. Please do not give your dog rawhide treats. More about this read here. In Estonia you can get natural dog treats from brands like Koera rõõm. Look for treats like chicken feet, rabbit ears, throat, pig inner ear.

Training treats

There are a lot of different cheap treats being sold in the shops, usually the cheap ones are the worst. Try to find the more natural treats that are just meats that are dried or meat cubes. Even healthier is to make treats yourself from different meats, cheese, liver or heart. Liver treats can be made by drying them in the oven. But with liver you can not give the dog too much of it cause it is very rich and too much can upset the dogs stomach. With heart cut it into smaller pieces, chicken hearts are small enough. If it is a cow heart it can be given still raw but other hearts have to be cooked trough.

Puzzle treats

Puzzle toys are great way to make your dogs mind work and also slows down the feeding. There are some great puzzles sold but there are a lot of DYI ideas that work great.

Licky mats

Lickymats is another way to give your dog something to do and to slow down their eating. If you feed raw spread the meat on there and for even a longer job for the dog, freeze the mat.

Frozen treats

Frozen treats are perfect for the summer. If feeding raw it is a good way to make vegetable mixes and freeze them to last longer. Or just make tasty treats for your pup.
